Key Purpose
The core purpose of a Business Analyst within this team is to manage the scope, requirements analysis and technical/ business solution design for components of the wider Transformation programme. 
 Typical business analysis activity includes planning, eliciting, analysing, defining, communicating and validating requirements for changes to the digital systems, business operations and processes, product and service offerings.
 
PROACTIVE:
  • Identifying ways in which the digital applications could be simplified or augmented to better meet the business’ requirements (CMS focussed)
  • Ensuring users understand how to fully leverage digital capabilities through effective training and communication, empowering users to maximise the capabilities of the systems at their disposal
  • Ensuring the developers fully understand and are able to build off the requirements effectively
REACTIVE:
  • Take ownership of live problems arising within the digital applications, ensuring fast and effective resolution and keeping all parties informed
Respond to the business’ requests for system changes/enhancements, assessing, prioritising and progressing them through the agreed mechanisms

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage business engagement to understand, challenge and document underlying business needs, translating these into project scope, objectives and business goals.
  • Design and facilitate business need workshops to analyse, define and prioritise requirements, challenging thinking and agreeing outcomes to ensure robust requirements development and approval.
  • Define and manage the documentation of business requirements and prepare business case underpinning solution options.
  • Understand and articulate the effect of proposed solutions, creating accurate and detailed as-is and to-be business models incorporating process and benefit analysis, people and customer impact assessment, as well as undertaking complex process mapping.
  • Develop cross business and service user acceptance plans and communications to support implementation.
  • Maintain good knowledge of an individual business/ product area and working knowledge of additional business/ product areas.
  • Define business analysis approach, apply project best practice throughout the life cycle with supporting documentation and tools, promoting equivalent behaviour across the team.
  • Engage a variety of stakeholders across priority business/product areas.
  • Skilled in Digital Agile delivery and comfortable with writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge in using JIRA confluence or equivalent collaboration software
  • Experience in delivery BA into digital projects

Qualifications/Experience
REQUIRED
  • Demonstrate the ability to succinctly and unambiguously define, capture and verify requirements to all stakeholders (business and technical) – in order to provide efficient and complete delivery required
  • Experienced Technical/ Digital Business Analyst with experience working on consumer facing digital projects
  • Experience of Agile and Lean methodologies
  • Good understanding of all aspects of digital products and their management from idea to live
  • Great understanding of UX/UI patterns
  • Proven experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Experience working in a service orientated architecture managing requirements and dependencies across integrated platforms
OPTIONAL
  • Experience with Sitecore or similar CMS Platforms,
  • Experience with React

IT Experience
  • Experience working with Sitecore (or similar CMS platform)
  • Experience writing both functional and technical requirements in a structured way the business can interpret
  • Technical background and direct experience of wide suite of applications – with the ability to understand how the technology is used to support a business process and vice versa – is key.       Ability to rapidly learn about new technologies.
  • Experience with Visio or other business process mapping tools
  • Experience with MS Project, Smartsheet and/or other project management applications
  • Experience of working with an Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Awareness of IT compliance & audit processes
  • An understanding of API technologies and the management of system integrations would be beneficial
