International sales role on an industry leading B2B portfolio

The EMAP Architecture portfolio is in exciting period of development and we are looking for a hardworking, intelligent and results driven salesperson to join our highly successful team. The Architecture portfolio includes three industry leading and award winning brands;  The Architects’ Journal (AJ), The Architectural Review (AR) and World Architecture Festival (WAF).  We have a global audience of engaged and influential architects who consume our highly valuable content across print, online, e-newsletter, social, and video platforms. We also run some of the most established and respected events within the industry - which recognise excellence and facilitate learning and networking.

This role will suit someone who is confident (but humble), self-motivated and driven (but is eager to learn and collaborate) and who thrives on pitching and closing new business.
Job Description
  • To sell sponsorship and marketing solutions across the EMAP Architecture portfolio
  • To sell the full range of products in the portfolio – from print and digital through to creative multi-platform sponsorship campaigns
  • Proactively and strategically sourcing and securing new business revenue in agreed territory whilst managing and growing existing accounts (80/20)
  • Establishing client objectives and presenting the most appropriate solutions, liaising with internal content and marketing teams where relevant
  • Delivering/exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual target revenues. Identifying new revenue streams (on and offline) to generate sustainable growth year on year
  • Preparing strategic plans and identifying opportunities for new business growth
  • To make the agreed number of calls, trade show visits and client meetings to ensure regular contact with new and existing clients in order to grow revenue and market share (there will be an expectation for international travel, approximately 20% )
  • Experience in advertising and sponsorship sales – ideally in a B2B environment
  • Evidence of building and closing new business from scratch and achieving sales targets
  • Resilient, self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills: able to develop and maintain strong relationships with team members clients
  • If not yet familiar with architectural or the built environment then a proven track record of embracing and becoming passionate about new
  • sectors in a short period of time
