PlanetRetail RNG is looking for a Business Development Manager to accelerate our growth within leading Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organizations.  Already a strategic partner to many leading global manufacturers, including Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson, PlanetRetail RNG is planning for explosive growth in the next 3 years driven by new products and services.
This exciting opportunity, in either New York or Boston, will play a leading role in driving PlanetRetail RNG’s success.  A key member of our North American sales team, this individual will have the opportunity to lead strategic relationships with VP and C-levels at global, leading CPG’s while playing a strategic role in PlanetRetail RNG’s evolution. Business Development Manager/Director
The primary responsibility of a Business Development Manager/Director (BDM/BDD) at PlanetRetail RNG is to deliver growth within a portfolio of named prospective clients. Reporting to the VP, North American Sales the BDM/BDD will develop strategies to introduce PlanetRetail RNG to C-level within target CPGs.  Through collaboration with our Content/Product teams, the BDM/BDD will be expected to propose custom solutions that deliver value to our clients and result in profitable, long-term relationships for PlanetRetail RNG. The BDM/BDD should be willing to manage a significant amount of prospecting activity, weekly meeting and opportunity targets and contract negotiations. 
Prior experience selling research and advisory to C-level professionals is a plus, as is previous retail or CPG experience. 
 
Desired Skills:
  • Two-plus years’ demonstrated sales success in a business development role
  • Previous CPG experience is a Plus
  • Ability to create Account Plan/Strategies for complex, enterprise prospects
  • Consultative selling skills and the ability to clearly articulate a winning sales approach or process
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for success
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience (MBA a plus)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to travel frequently to attend in-person client meetings
  • Experience in a consultative sales environment
