We're looking for a News and Analysis Editor to join our busy news desk, running and line managing it's team of talented journalists and executing our content strategy. You will be a multimedia journalist and will head up the content team, expected to lead by example in terms of writing and reporting, to get the best out of our journalists, to help drive our content strategy, and deliver the content that our audience needs.
We’re looking for someone who is already a talented journalist – able to find and write breaking news stories as well as write longer, deeper analytical pieces – and someone who can rally the team together, be clear on what the priorities are and ensure we are covering the topics that matter. 
You will also be a brand ambassador for Retail Week, representing the brand at events, conferences, and evening functions, alongside our content output on and in our fortnightly print title, you will also contribute to our other media including video and podcasts.
Key responsibilities
  • Running the day-to-day operations of our busy content desk
  • Line management of the content team
  • Ability to build and nurture contacts in the industry
  • Brand ambassador in the market
  • Breaking news, writing longer in-depth articles
  • Day-to-day execution of our content strategy

Your experience  
  • You could be a news editor or deputy news editor on a leading business-to-business title, website or other media title
  • An interest in retail and technology would be an advantage 
  • You will be a self-starter but with a clear team spirit, hard-working, and willing to go the extra mile.
  • You will be comfortable hitting deadlines
  • Due to a very fast-paced environment, you will be an expert at juggling tasks and priorities
