Key Responsibilities 
 
  • Plan and execute effective marketing campaigns on time and within budget, utilizing the appropriate mix of media (including B2B events such as tradeshows and conferences, lead generation, pursuit account and digital) to achieve optimum response, marketing ROI and delivering against new business targets.
  • Using existing templates as a guide, create and continually evolve marketing and sales promotional communications for WGSN APAC, ensuring local relevance whilst achieving consistent messaging and positioning. Including product literature, corporate and product specific sales presentations, customer case studies, trend confirmations, testimonials.
  • Increase client retention rates and retained value by implementing effective client marketing:
    • Evaluate net promoter scores by customer types and clusters
    • Understanding the buying patterns and behaviours of all market segments and applying appropriate drop schedules, marketing methodologies and creative packages accordingly
    • Be the local knowledge centre on all key competitor activity, product developments and ensure that the APAC team are fully abreast of opportunities and risks; able to provide solutions to retain vulnerable accounts and optimize win back opportunities
  • Develop short and medium-term strategies to drive market penetration in core segments and awareness across new markets, according to commercial guidance.
  • Develop a contact data plan and process to constantly analyse and manage the growth of the database.
  • Track and perform analysis of marketing metrics across all media like click- through, response rates, lead conversion, sales conversion, marketing revenue and ROI, reporting monthly on KPIs and recommending changes where necessary.
  • Play an integral role in WGSN’s APAC operation and contribute to the development of WGSN’s global marketing strategy as well as translating global initiatives into local execution.
  • You will also be required to engage regularly and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders such as sales & content teams, product development, suppliers and customers.
  • Develop a PR strategy, working with an agency to build and promote the WGSN brand in the market across APAC;
 
  • Ensure that all marketing activity reaches its target markets using a full mix of media in order to maximise revenues and minimise fatigue. This includes:
    • Determining and managing the optimum media mix by interest group / market segment / cluster
    • Understanding and managing the data protections rules of all media types
    • Implementing permission based e-campaigns
    • Maintaining dynamic and up-to-the-minute marketing web sites
    • Using SEM to drive web traffic, visitor registrations and sales leads
    • Leveraging social media marketing to build the brand, drive brand awareness and increase visitor conversion rates
    • Skills and experience 
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with at least 8 years’ of marketing management experience preferably across APAC;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills (English and Cantonese/Mandarin essential);
  • Commercially acute with strong relationship building / partnering skills;
  • Demonstrate strong coaching and management skills;
  • Self-starter and quick to grasp commercial concepts and product strategies;
  • Self-motivated and passionate about success in a fast paced environment;
  • Delivery focused with high energy levels;
  • Able to work autonomously and drive for success;
  • PR and brand building experience is desirable;
  • Able to leverage and optimize resources available;
  • Strong analytical skills and articulate;
  • Strong team player and can be hands-on to.
  • Experience in managing and executing multi-channel direct marketing promotions: email, direct mail, events and digital (including SEM, SEO and social media);
  • Demonstrable experience in market and customer research projects, transforming the analysis into actionable sales intelligence;
  • Experience in tactical planning & strong in operations;
  • Experience of delivering sales promotional activity and retention marketing in a B2B environment is essential; experience in a subscription-based business would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working in the fashion industry or related disciplines would also be favourable
  • Setting up and managing a PR database of contacts and releases or using an external agency where appropriate.
